Brattleboro

With a population of just over 12,000, Brattleboro is an eclectic community located in the Connecticut River Valley and bordering the states of New Hampshire and Massachusetts. It is home to a diverse economic base and is a regional center for art, commerce, finance, and technology.

Our recreation opportunities are limitless: you'll find plenty of hiking, paddling, swimming, camping, caving, nature walks, and the like. Explore our rivers, hundreds of acres of forests and trails, and the lofty Green Mountains to our west. Additionally, we are less than two hours from approximately eight of New England's best ski resorts - and Brattleboro itself has a small municipal ski lift at an area park right in town.

Local businesses have provided discounts and special offers to our students, who often bring spouses and significant others to the town for our weekend sessions. We are fortunate to have as a neighbor, one of the most impressive art gallery/museums in the region.

We are proud to be engaged with our community, and we encourage our Graduate Center students, staff, and faculty to respect that sense of outreach, to share and promote GC learning and experience in local and distant settings, catalyzing community development in profit and not-for-profit areas.
