Grad Programs Instructors Receive High Marks

Results of recent student evaluations of faculty in our graduate-level programs have been tabulated, and the group can take a collective bow. With an "overall satisfaction rating" of 83%, the message is clear that our instructors are making both academic and personal connections with our students.

Results Varied
Faculty members were rated individually in ten categories covering such areas as "course met expectations," online discussion quality," and "relevance of materials to the real world." As would be expected, occasionally students in the same class reacted differently based upon their own expectations, backgrounds, and preferences for teaching styles. Despite those differences, however, the overall ratings were encouraging. The lowest total was 77%; three faculty hit scores in the 80s (80%, 83%, 85%), two soared into the 90's (93%, 98%), and one received a blistering 100%.

Looking Ahead
While it's satisfying to see such positive feedback, focusing on the scores for individual questions will be the true value of the survey. Our intent is always to keep strengthening all aspects of the GC experience. Working with faculty to keep developing - with an eye on the "golden apple" of 100% ratings across the board - will put the responses to best use and will help ensure the most outstanding educational growth for all who join our community.
